Two overrated photographer.
The image shown @45 seconds into this video is credited to Joel Meyerowitz in the book Bystander. I think it is his rather than winograds.

He seems like a very genuine and gentle person, and i think he has a lot of interesting things to say. His enthusiasm and spirituality about photography is really awe-inspiring aswell. Although, i don’t really find his photography that interesting, unfortunately.

Masterpiece, Masterphotographer,no question.
Yes, maybe his pictures are not remote landscapes or anything like that, but you have to understand that this kind of photography is about the subtle beauty of everyday life. You have to recover your ability to be surprised, nowadays people think they have seen it all and are not impressed by the little things that happen everyday and that’s what counts, if you ask me.

BRILLIANT.
PERFECT? WOW! Thanks for the uplift Ozymet.
This is one of the most inspiring speech I’ve heard about photography. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Godbless you.
Stunning, simply stunning. Thank you, Joel.
He would like digital camera. He would take 1000 pictures a day.
Baloney! Leave your friends alone! Forget it! LOL. Love this guy.

Everyone wants to know a deeper meaning behind what he does, his intentions, his inspiration etc. They’re digging too deep. He just wants to photograph. It’s how he interacts with his world. He’s just a working class guy who happens to use a camera instead of a trowel. When asked why he does it he’s taken aback because the answer is : what the hell else is he supposed to do? He’s a great artist because he’s not caught up in the idea of being one.

It was like to be with a great cook and see how he makes those delicious foods but not getting a chance to taste the food.

You see.
If ever there was a man who needed to photograph in order to live it was Garry Winogrand. This interview is a battle of wills and I love the way Winogrand squirms in his seat as he tries to avoid answering questions or dismisses others with a gruff laugh and a repeated I can’t talk about that much to the frustration of Ms Diamonstein. The man is very much like his images – instinctive, direct, unconventional and deeply serious about the most ordinary facts of life.

Best youtube on street photography ever. I feel inspired.
So is he just snapping these off at automatic settings and focus? a lot of the photos come out magnificent.
I kept waiting for Jack, Janet and Chrissy to walk by.
The yellow filter darkens blue and raises contrast a bit. Semper Fi.
Thanks for putting this up.
That was amazing. Wow what a character.

This video and a wonder, on Gary’s technique; the angle of shooting on people, it was a lord.

‘ It’s the closest I come to not existing. Wise words.
It’s a huge pleasure to hear the master himself talking about his passion. Brilliant video! Gracias.
Great work Joel, you were there when the world needed you. 👌.
This is brilliant. Its a shame that some are complaining that this isnt a polished HBO production. Great work John Free, you inspire me. I watched every 26 minutes – 3 times.
Hey John, I always come back and watch this video and others every so often when I am looking for a bit of inspiration, hope you are doing well, Sir 👊👍📷📸❤.

The end sequence was a bit weird,I was waiting for one of them to say,”can I help you ! ”.
